Popular culture provides a fascinating window into American desires, myth and fears. I am intrigued by the complexities of representation and employ appropriation and re-contextualization of popular themes to create dialogue and generate new meaning. Through interrogation of gender identity and vernacular aesthetics I scrutinize sites of representation and display to reveal and create moments of revision and transformation.
